VOB is usually the way video files appear to a computer when they are on a DVD. The most common way to make a VOB file is to use one of the many DVD-burning programs.

What sort of video do you want to make into a VOB ?

Since you mentioned "Dr. Richard", I figured I'd better comment. Great video and I really like the fact that the fundamental part of your definition is that there is no "middle-man" producer, but it's directly from the producer (and usally actor, director, camera person and janior) to the audience ... cool

Thanks for your comments everyone. I really appreciate them.

I was a bit unsure whether I'd just get flamed for joining into this potentially heated discussion. I'm glad it seems to have worked.

Excellent!

I have been avoiding this whole discussion, but I very much enjoy your definition of a videoblog. I think it's acurate without being discriminating; which is what vlogging is all about.

Cheers!

Great video!

Part of what you call "videoblogging", I think of as "peer media casting" (or "<a href='http://outhink.blogs.com/spinflow/2005/05/chemical_reacti.html' rel="nofollow">SpinCasting"</a> when it can be done simply and easily - e.g. simple as Drag and Drop).

Clearly Ipswitch has the capability to push these ideas further as well. While there are many great tools and resources out there, it is still very difficult for most people to put all the pieces together.

Thanks for contributing to the conversation (especially by using videoblogging). I also made one of these on my personal vlog. You declare genre, frequency, etc. as irrelevant and I applaude that.

P.S. It's good to meet another fan of The Richard Show. Come meet Richard and many of the other videobloggers at our <a href='http://www.voxmedia.org/wiki/Videoblogger_Videoconferences' rel="nofollow">twice-weekly, on-line, video conferences</a>.
This is one of the best 'definitions' of videoblogging I have seen. Thank you for sharing it.

I am very excited about the future of videoblogging; where the spectrum you mention will be in just one year from now.

I see you use DreamHost and WordPress - I am considering moving to that as well (I already have dltq.org at DH, and am pleased with that so far). By the way, the Movie link in your post is currently incorrect - I changed the folder of my media from "vlog" to "media" at dltq.org.

Again, great video!
